Frequently asked questions
What about car parking?
The Coronation Hall has a car park.
There is a car park just behind the Deeping Library for library events.
There is small car park at Deeping St James Church/Church hall, so you may need to park on the road in Church Street. There is a car park behind The Cross school which you can also use for both these venues and then it is a two minute walk. Please park sensibly.
There is a car park in the Market Place, Market Deeping, useful for the Iron Horse and the shops, café’s Lillis etc.
There is a big car park near The Rainbow supermarket off Godsey Lane, Market Deeping , free for 4 hours from the petrol station inwards and a small charge from the petrol station to the road in. From here you can easily walk through to the Market Place. This is also useful for Lillis, Iron Horse and the Market Deeping shops and restaurants.
St Guthlac’s Church has no car parking. (See lincoln.ourchurchweb.org.uk and click on directions.) On-street parking is available on The Avenue, The Orchard, St Guthlac’s Avenue or Church Street. There is a small car park at the Green School opposite which takes 6 cars, which we are reserving as disabled spaces. Arrive early to park here. Or you could leave your car at the Coronation Hall, from where it is a 15 minute walk.
Visitors are welcome to park in the large White Horse pub car park, for £1, and this is a 5 minute walk away. It is on the same side as St Guthlac’s Church, towards Market Deeping. The White Horse are happy for parking customers to use their toilets for this event.
How can I get a lift from the venues as I am disabled?
We will have a free taxi service running from the Coronation Hall to all the venues including Market Deeping. Priority will be given to those with restricted mobility. The taxi will be based at the Coronation Hall, Market Deeping and available during the day, picking up outside the Coronation Hall.
Where can I buy food and drink ?
All venues will be selling light refreshments. It is a 20 minute walk into Market Deeping where there are several very good café’s, restaurants and pubs. We will provide you with a leaflet showing you what is on offer when you arrive.
What are the arrangements for the Alison Weir talk at St Guthlac’s church, Market Deeping ?
This is a very popular event so please leave enough time for parking. For where to park, please see above. We would advise you to arrive early; the seating is not allocated. There is just the one toilet and this is accessible. There are other toilets at the Coronation Hall and Green School opposite. There will be light refreshments served afterwards, with all donations to the church. Walkers Books will have a “pop up” book shop in the church.
